JAKARTA 28 MEI 2012: Setelah pelbagai spekulasi yang tidak elok didengar mengenai Lady Gaga, akhirnya sah mengatakan bahawa konsert mega star yang sepatutnya diadakan di Jakarta pada 3 Jun ini telah dibatalkan atas desakan ramai pihak.

Lady Gaga sendiri dilaporkan sangat kecewa dengan keputusan yang terpaksa diterimanya itu.
Khabarnya, polis di Indonesia telah menolak untuk mengeluarkan permit konsert yang menampilkan penyanyi yang mempunyai pengikut tertinggi di Twitter iaitu lebih 25 juta orang.

Ramai pihak di negara seberang, telah menyelar penyanyi popular itu dengan menyifatkannya terlalu vulgar (seksi).

Sebagai negara yang mempunyai masyarakat Islam teramai di dunia, perkara ini dipandang serius oleh Front Pembela Islam (FPI).

FPI dikatakan telah mengugut untuk menghalang Lady Gaga daripada menjejakkan kaki ke bumi Indonesia.

Lady Gaga album sells 1.1 mln copies in first week

Lady Gaga has sold more than one million copies of her new album to top the US pop chart for the first time, according to sales data published on Tuesday by Billboard magazine.

Fans scooped up 1.11 million copies of her much-hyped release “Born This Way” during the week ended May 29, with a bit of help from a hugely popular 99-cent promotion by online retailer Amazon.com

It marks the biggest first-week sales total since rapper 50 Cent’s “The Massacre” debuted to 1.14 million copies in March 2005. The last album to break the million mark was country starlet Taylor Swift’s “Speak Now,” which started with 1.01 million copies last November. Boy band ‘N Sync holds the first-week record with 2.4 million copies for its 2000 album “No Strings Attached.”

Billboard estimated that Amazon downloads accounted for upward of 440,000 downloads of “Born This Way.” Overall digital downloads totaled a record-breaking 662,000 copies, Billboard said.

Lady Gaga censored in Malaysia for gay rights song

Lady Gaga has been censored on Malaysian radio stations due to concern Gaga's gay anthem "Born This Way" encourages public acceptance of homosexuals. Malaysian broadcasters said Thursday they're being cautious due to government restrictions against songs that might violate "good taste or decency or (are) offensive to public feeling."

Listeners can still hear most of the Gaga track if they tune in. Radio stations have edited the song to replace the offensive lyrics with garble.

The lyrics in question are: "No matter gay, straight or bi, lesbian, transgendered life, I'm on the right track, baby."

"The particular lyrics in 'Born This Way' may be considered as offensive when viewed against Malaysia's social and religious observances," AMP Radio Networks said in a statement to The Associated Press.

"The issue of being gay, lesbian or (bisexual) is still considered as a 'taboo' by general Malaysians."

Broadcasters can face fines up of to 50,000 ringgit ($16,000) and other penalties for breaking the rules.

"Lady Gaga was attempting to address this very thing in her song. How dare they play that song and cut out its shining heart," said Pang Khee Teik , the co-founder of Sexuality Independence, a Malaysian anti-discrimination arts movement.

"We just want the same thing as everyone else: to love, be loved and have our songs played on the radio."

Gaga later returned to the stage when her "Fame Monster" beat out efforts by Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, John Mayer and Susan Boyle for the Best Pop Vocal Album award. In the speech, the pop star specifically thanked Whitney Houston, "because when I wrote 'Born this Way,' I imagined she was singing it - because I wasn't secure enough in myself to imagine I was a superstar."

Lady GaGa is allegedly engaged to boyfriend Luc Carl.

According to the Daily Star, the Bad Romance hitmaker and Carl got on so well after spending Christmas at Luc's parents house in Nebraska, that they have decided to tie the knot.


Speaking of their festive getaway together, an insider told the newspaper: "She could have paid for Luc and his family to stay in a five-star hotel at Christmas but thought it was way more romantic to stay with him in the bedroom he had as a little boy. He’s the only man she’s truly loved."

It is thought that the pair are expected to announce their engagement on the release day of her highly anticipated new single, Born This Way, on 13th February.

The source added to the tabloid: "She and Luc are in no rush to name a wedding date. She doesn't even have a proper ring because he couldn't afford one."

GaGa and Luc, who met four years ago at a Manhattan bar where Carl worked, have previously expressed their desire to get hitched, by having a "spiritual commitment ceremony" last year.
